An amazing Visit!

My mom and dad-o got to visit for a few days of the holiday weekend and it was wonderful!! We antiqued, ate out and I baked cake pops and cranberry french toast. Isaiah had a blast with his papa and kept him jumping! I think the highlight of the visit is when Keith took us for a ride in his ole' surbanan (lifted up with Big Mud tires) we had to get a step ladder for mom hahaha and then our seatbelts in the back didnt work and when Keith revved it up she was terrified but after a several miles she started to enjoy herself and we hadn't laughed that much in along time. It was also wonderful to be in church service with them like the many years growing up and I miss that dearly. We hope to fly out in March for a whole week in VA and I can't wait. Momma also brought me a hutch, 2 antique tables, numerous things from my grandma as well, a nice china set and glassware. I also got grandma's handframes that she quilted on many many many years and that is priceless to me!! Grandma also sent 120 Plus yards of Fabric and even a nice sized roll of batting! I have alot to keep me busy for awhile.

"Christmas in July ..err I mean August"

I promised and promised Isaiah we were gonna make sugar cookies before the summer was over and even though I love to do it I dread it too cuz what a Job!!! Isaiah had fun picking out the shapes he wanted from mommy's vast supply

Then came the fun part of rolling (ugh) and Isaiah loved loved pressing out the cookies and for some reason he had this fatuation with one giant bunny cookie cutter LOL---I did not argue who cares if they are all bunnies they taste the same right?? So 2 and half hours later we had about 2 1/2 dozen cookies and one worn out momma but one happy little man! Blessed

"Fascinator Pieces"

Well I have had several people commenting that my headbands creations are simply more than your "run of the mill" headband (Which I tend to agree) and they have put people in mind of "fascinator hats" and to clarify what that is think royal wedding hat attires. I had been thinking this as well and will start marketing them as Fascinator headbands on Etsy. I believe by doing this will set my creations apart and open up another revenue of customers and who know's perhaps one of my Fascinator headbands will be in a Royal Wedding party :0

Chain Link Fence

Keith is off for the next 2 weeks and we are hoping to accomplish alot around the house while he is off. We were planning to visit my mother in VA but things came up and we could not go but have hopes that my mother and dad will visit soon. Keith  went to Lowe's this morning and purchased what we need to make our chain-link fence and the neighbors are graciously allowing us to tie in with them. My other plans this week is cleaning/organizing the garage and starting to paint the inside the house the way we want it, when we moved in it is a pinky-brown thru the whole house, the hardest part for me is picking and agreeing on colors. I do know I want a yellowish kitchen to go with my sunflower them and a sagey earthy green living room and hallway and blue in Isaiah's room and I am thinking a bluish gray to go with the americana them in our bedroom.I want to replace all the blinds while we paint.  My future goals for the house is replacing the linouluem in bathrooms with tile and replacing the toilets as well. Last week Keith put together my elliptical and I have been using that and feel better and hope to see results! We also got Isaiah a puppy, Sophia, she is a beagle mix and very sweet. I have also decided to switch my major from business management to social psych. I am very excited about that and feel good about that decision. I have taken a couple weeks off from making headbands to finish a big report for school but have been making my sis Emily a quilt and Isaiah overall Sam Fishing blocks that are being colored with crayolas and set with an iron and then embroidered!Very Cute!!! I do not have my quilt frames up yet but havent decided to put up my new frames or wait until my mom comes out because she has my grandmother Funk's quilt frames that were made by my great uncle. Well I am signing off for now ..... toodles!

Busy Summer!!

It has been quite the summer so far!! I should have never taken summer classes ! I have learned my lesson let me tell you, it has take time away from my family and me glued to the computer---very stinky :(
We are also still relatively moving in and getting used to our new home, which I am soo thankful for and I do like my new town alot as well. My family will be visiting my momma in Virginia soon and I am soo excited about that but not so excited about the 10 page report that is due before I can leave! Booooo!! After we get back from Virginia , Isaiah will be getting enrolled in Kindergarten ( not sure how I feel about that) but feel it will be very good for him as well. Later on in August Isaiah will be going back to the Autism Clinic for a diagnosis and evaluation. This has been a long struggle and emotionally hard one as well but God has helped him so much along the way and I know will continue to heal and touch him. Isaiah has come a far way and unless one has ever been in this situation it is impossible to explain all that this entails.
I have also kept very busy making headbands and they are not your "run of the mill" headbands , each one is unique and some pretty elaborate lol. It is def not a money maker but still fun to make  and teach.
My husband, Keith will be soon getting out of the Military due to injuries sustained in service (Numerous IED attacks, ect..) we are both anxious to start this new chapter in our lives and know that it is a blessing in disquiese. Keith has served 10 years and 4 depolyments and has more than done his fair share! Can I get an Amen?? So I am signing of to work on my report and pack to go to my momma's! I hope you all have a safe and happy summer !
