A little selfish... It's ok

I've realized lately it's ok to take some time to reflect & think about yourself & your family some. We can get sooo caught up in the affairs of this life & the affairs of other men that we neglect our own "garden" because we are too busy admiring another persons garden when we could also have a gorgeous garden if we would take the time to work on that. I hope to dedicate more time to my blog as well I know it's been horribly neglected I guess I thought nobody reads it anyway lol but even if no one does it's still something that I will continue to "build"

Blessings,
ElizaJane

My little sewing business has been very busy this month! I still have a few things to get wrapped up and I have new ideas to start. I also started making jersey knit skirts for myself which is trial and error but I can wear them in public lol! Oh yes and matching infinity scarves which are super cool!! Hopefuly they will stay in style cuz soo fun to make!!!!
The highlight of this month was finishing a gorgeous quilt that i gifted to my sister, Emily.

Isaiah's Quilt

Isaiah thinks its really neat mommy makes things. According to him my job description is mommy makes headbands lol. He also is a biggg fan of my quilts. He likes to help in the sewing room so I came up with an idea to let him make his own quilt. I was thinking and embroidery quilt but I do not thing him handling a needle at this point would be such a great idea lol I decided to let him go through his coloring books pick out what he likes and by using an iron transfer pen I am able to transfer the images to fabric and let him do paint embroidery. Paint embroidery is fun and neat for kids and he can color 12 blocks then I will put sashing in between and yarn tie so he can have it quick and he will have a complete quilt that he did all on his own. Pretty neat huh? If anyone would like to do this for their kiddo's I am using 12x12 inch blocks doing 4 rows of 3 and about 3-4 inches of sashing and possibly a border to make the quilt bigger.

Friend

Do you want to know if you have a true friend?? Proverbs 17:17 says ," a friend Loveth at all times..." I've had people in my life claim to be friends but something wasn't quite right??? Couldn't quite put my finger on it but they were what momma calls a "fair weather" friend ... Their moods toward you changed with the weather so it seemed. With others that green ugly monster called jealousy would pop up every once in a while. The bible says coven tenuous is idolatry and to flee idolatry! It is not smart to compare ourselves with one another we need to learn to be content and rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those weep. friends will come & go in your life but remember there Ida friend named Jesus who will stick closer than a brother!!

PRAYER WORKS!!!!

EEEEKKKKK, I am soo excited!! I had been very discouraged with my Whigrose shop, I know I have great quality needlework and put ALOT of time and effort into each and every piece whether it be a headband, brooch, or a bigger item like a quilt but the prob is getting it out there and recognized so yesterday while I was having a mini pity party it crossed my mind , "Have u really prayed for WhigRose?" and the answer was no not really, not specifically and earnestly. So right there I took a few minutes and Thanked God for all he's done and asked his blessings on WhigRose or if its not the route for me let me have a peace in that as well. Later that day a friend stopped by and was exclaiming over my WIP'S ----- Works In Progress! She saw one quilt she really loved and offered to buy it when I was through and also she would like another one for her Mother in law... all within one day I now have 2 quilts to make and she also put in for a headband order. Ain't God good???? Any good gift comes from above.

WhigRose

I am thrilled to announce I have a team member for my Etsy shop WhigRose http://www.etsy.com/shop/WhigRose --- Amy!!
I met Amy at the dr's  while getting my son's pink eye looked at. We both discovered we had the same birthday and we lived literally blocks from one another and our hubby's are both in military, How cool is that!! Amy is such a blessing to WhigRose because she makes little girls clothes!!! Yay!! and plus I have tons of FUN adding the embellishments. We will also be trying our hand at local craft and art fairs locally. I pray God's blessing on our endeavors because without him we can do nothing.

Back from Va

I had such a wonderful time visiting my parents in VA a couple weeks ago.  The drive is always way loong! But so worth it to be with my momma. VA is always so beautiful and it feels like home when I see those green rolling hills and mountains. My mom's house is so gorgeous and she has decorated so tasteful in french country style. Lots of white and antique furniture and decor. One of my highlights of the trip was getting my brother's ipad 2 :) I am having tons of fun with it an so is my son and husband! We love to play angry birds ( who doesn't) and Price is right.. who knew a 5 year old would love price is right! so funny.
It was nice getting away while in VA and clearing my head and focusing on my family. I believe I left refreshed and with a greater determination to live life to the fullest without distraction and drama from other people that would be a hindrance. I can't wait till I visit again in the beautiful Appalachians!!
